DataSentinel Group (DataSentinel) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals whose personal information it collects in the course of providing Managed Database Services, Database Consulting Services, and Data Analytics Services, with partners such as Microsoft, Oracle and Snowflake.
This statement outlines how DataSentinel collects, uses, stores, and protects such personal information. Personal Information collected from DataSentinel employees and contractors is covered by a separate Privacy Statement for Staff.
DataSentinel undertake to comply at all times with applicable privacy laws – being all legislation relating to personal and health information for that jurisdiction, including, but not limited to the Privacy Act 2020 in New Zealand and the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth) in Australia (as applicable) and privacy standards, codes of practice and guidelines in force from time to time.

DataSentinel primarily collects personal information necessary for business interactions and recruitment, including but not limited to:
1. Business-related Personal Information - Customer/Client, Partner/Reseller and Supplier/Technology Partner:

b. Computer and network information
c. Billing and Support Information (e.g., payment details, service requests, and customer communications)
2. Recruitment Information (e.g., resumes, employment history, references, and contact details of job applicants)
3. How DataSentinel Uses Personal Information

Business-Related Personal Information:
1. Providing database management, consulting, and analytics services;
2. Managing business relationships, contracts, and customer inquiries;
3. Administering billing, payments, and service support;
4. Communicating relevant business updates, service enhancements, or marketing materials (where consent is obtained).
Such collection and use may require that the Personal Information is shared with DataSentinel’s other Partners/Resellers and/or Suppliers/Technology Partners.
Recruitment Information:
1. To facilitate the recruitment process – which may include assessing the applicant's qualifications, conducting background checks, communicating with the applicant regarding their application status, and make hiring decisions.
4. How DataSentinel Protects Information
DataSentinel implements appropriate security measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure, including by storing it in encrypted files and managing access through defined staff roles and access levels.
Personal data is stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary to meet business, legal, and regulatory requirements.
5. Individual Rights
Individuals whose personal information is collected by DataSentinel have rights under applicable privacy laws, including:
1. Accessing personal data upon request;
2. Requesting corrections to inaccurate or outdated information;
