2019
Company established. Development of SQL Server IP started.
2020
Launched to market, delivering SQL Server Managed and Professional Services.
2021
Started offering Business Intelligence services and established Data and Analytics Practice.
2022
Commenced providing services into Australia.
2022
Won the ‘New Zealand-wide Innovation (National)’ award at the Reseller News Innovation Awards.
2023
Established Oracle Practice.
2024
Started to provide services into the United Kingdom. Also established PostgreSQL Practice.
2025
Established DataSentinel Pty Limited in Australia. First staff members employed in Australia.

Paul Capstick
Chief Executive Officer and Director
Paul Capstick brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to his role as CEO, working in a range of leadership roles across the industry.
At DataSentinel, Paul is committed to ensuring that client success remains at the heart of every decision and action the company takes.
Building on his experience across other roles, Paul has experience in market expansion, building strategic partnerships, and leading merger and acquisition initiatives. His ability to drive growth and foster client-focused solutions continues to guide his leadership at DataSentinel.
Outside of work, Paul is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family.
Tim Brown
Client Services Director
As Client Services Director, Tim Brown is dedicated to building strong, long-term relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service and solutions tailored to their unique needs.
Tim works directly with clients to understand their requirements and collaborates with the development team to design and implement optimal solutions.
With 20 years of industry experience, both in New Zealand and internationally, Tim is a highly skilled pre-sales architect, specialising in Dynamics AX SQL configurations and complex database migrations. His expertise spans defining support requirements, optimising existing systems, and addressing the challenges of modernisation.In his free time, Tim enjoys golf and relaxing with his family.
